What I Look for When I Review Someone’s Food Diary
Hey!
When someone sends me their food diary, I don’t just glance at the calories. I look for patterns. Within minutes, several things usually stand out.
Protein intake. Many people are eating far less protein than they realize.
Portion balance. Sometimes meals are heavily skewed toward carbs with very little protein or fiber.
Calorie density. Certain foods pack a lot of calories into small portions.
Meal timing. Long gaps between meals can trigger overeating later in the day.
None of these things are obvious to most people reviewing their own meals. That’s why outside perspective can be so powerful. Once someone understands how their meals are structured, the next steps become much clearer. And clarity often leads to progress. Because weight loss becomes less about guessing — and more about making informed adjustments. Try the Plate Audit.
