The Truth About Snacking
Hey!
Snacking has a reputation problem. Some people think snacks ruin weight loss. Others believe snacks are required every two hours. The truth? Snacks are neither good nor bad. They’re tools. Used correctly, snacks can stabilize energy and prevent overeating later. Used incorrectly…they become a slow drip of extra calories throughout the day. Here’s the pattern I see often:
Breakfast. Snack. Lunch. Snack. Snack while cooking dinner. Snack after dinner. At that point we’re not snacking anymore. We’re just grazing. And grazing makes it very hard for your body to create the calorie deficit needed for weight loss.
The key question is simple: Are your snacks serving a purpose — or just filling time?
Intentional snacks look different. They’re structured. Balanced. Actually satisfying. And when snacks are designed properly, they can support weight loss rather than sabotage it. Most people just haven’t been shown how to use them strategically. If you want to know whether your current snack habits are helping or hurting your progress…that’s something a food audit reveals very quickly.
